JetBlue Airways will soon open its first airport lounges at two U.S. airports as it competes with bigger airlines for premium travelers.
Airports include Boston Logan International Airport in Massachusetts and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
The JFK lounge will be 8,000 square feet and the Logan lounge will be 11,000 square feet. The JFK lounge will open along Terminal 5 in late 2025, while the Logan lounge will open in Terminal C “shortly thereafter,” according to the release.
“Our customers love the JetBlue experience, which is why we’re bringing the same thoughtful service we bring to our lounge experience on board,” JetBlue president Marty St. George said in a news release.
According to the announcement, the lounges will feature complimentary food and beverages, a full-service bar, private workspaces with free Wi-Fi, “plenty” of power outlets for connecting phones, computers and tablets, and comfortable seating.
“The lounge will also be equipped with the airline’s excellent customer service standards, delivered by hospitality-trained crew,” according to a press release.
JetBlue said the lounges will be primarily for elite members of its TrueBlue frequent flyer program and those with a new JetBlue-branded premium credit card that has yet to be released. The airline also plans to sell day passes when availability is available.
JetBlue declined to say how much it would cost to build and operate the lounges, and said the airline will wait to see how well JFK and Boston do before considering opening lounges at other airports.
“Customers have been requesting a JetBlue lounge for years, and we can’t wait to unveil our lounges in New York and Boston,” St. George said.
