NBC Sports has brought on former college football star Colt McCoy as an analyst for its coverage of the Big Ten Conference.
“College football has always held a special place in my heart, and with the expansion of the Big Ten and a new era of college football, this is the perfect time to join NBC Sports,” McCoy said in a press release. “I can’t wait to share the passion, excitement and competitive spirit every week!”
McCoy was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist at the University of Texas before beginning his 14-year NFL career, most recently playing for the Arizona Cardinals in 2023.
The longtime NFL veteran already has commentary experience with NBC Sports, having previously called USFL games for the network in 2023.
McCoy will debut in his new role on Saturday, September 7, when Deion Sanders’ Colorado team visits Matt Lue and Nebraska. He will provide commentary for the game alongside Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and Katherine Tappen (sideline). The game will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 pm ET.
“During his illustrious career at Texas, Colt McCoy played a starring role in many of college football’s biggest games and fiercest rivalries,” said Sam Flood, executive producer and president, NBC Sports Productions. “It’s great to kick it off with Colorado vs. Nebraska!”
NBC Sports’ Big Ten football package will include “Big Ten Saturday Night” on NBC and Peacock, the conference’s first primetime game to air weekly on a national broadcast network.
