The Genesis Electrified G80 has undergone a significant upgrade, catapulting it into the flagship category with a new design, extended range and enhanced luxury features. Unveiled at the Busan International Mobility Show in June, the 2025 model offers a refined driving experience and high comfort for both driver and passengers. The refreshed electric sedan reflects Genesis’ commitment to combining luxury and sustainability.
With the addition of a fourth-generation 94.5 kWh battery, the new G80 Electrified boasts an impressive range of up to 295 miles (475 km) in Korea, a significant improvement over the previous model. Genesis has also focused on improving driving dynamics, adding an Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) and active rear-wheel steering (RWS) to improve handling and smooth out the ride. Upgraded front and rear bushing specifications improve overall ride comfort, making the G80 even more competitive in the luxury EV market.
The exterior has been dramatically redesigned, featuring a new Genesis Crest grille with a gradient G-Matrix pattern and larger air intakes. This bold update is complemented by the addition of distinctive Double Line headlamps with advanced Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, further enhancing the sedan’s sleek look. For added convenience, a charging door integrated into the grille now features power opening/closing, heating function and interior lighting.
Genesis has also extended the G80’s wheelbase by 130 mm to 3,140 mm, significantly increasing interior space. Rear seat passengers enjoy 995 mm of legroom, 83 mm more than the previous model, as well as increased headroom. Inside the cabin, the car offers a high level of luxury experience, featuring a quiet ride with Active Sound Design (e-ASD) and premium materials. At the heart of the interior is a 27-inch OLED infotainment and driver display that can be split into multiple screens for added functionality. A 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with Dolby Atmos further enhances the in-cabin experience.
Key interior upgrades include:
Fingerprint authentication.
heated front seat console armrest;
Passenger seat posture memory system.
3-zone climate control.
Genesis has introduced a new “Chauffeur Mode” that optimises torque and suspension settings for an exceptionally smooth ride, and “Chauffeur Brake Mode” for improved braking performance. Rear passengers get VIP seats and luxury features like power door curtains, one-button rear door control and a smart rear entertainment system.
Starting at around $66,900 in Korea, the improved Genesis Electrified G80 is positioned as a premium sedan. The model will be rolled out to Europe and North America after its launch in Korea. In the U.S., the 2024 G80 will be priced from $74,375 and has an EPA-estimated range of 282 miles. The improved model is expected to slightly increase this range to around 290 miles.
Genesis representatives describe the upgraded electrified G80 as “the most Genesis electric vehicle ever” and say it seamlessly blends performance, luxury and sustainable technology to set a new standard in the luxury EV market.
