He caught a touchdown pass in each of Clemson’s first two games of the 2018 national championship season, including Clemson’s penultimate score in a 28-26 win at Texas A&M. Overton had the best year of his career as a senior in 2019, catching 22 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns. That year, he won the Leather Helmet Award as the Most Valuable Player in the Clemson vs. Boston College game for his performance of 119 yards and three touchdowns on just three receptions. While en route to the scene, officers received a report of a shooting at a home.
Upon arrival, officers found Overton suffering from a gunshot wound.
