Experienced hotelier Paulo Miguel Calvin is taking on a new challenge after being appointed Director of Golf at Porto Santo Golfe in Madeira.

In his role, the Madeira native is responsible for overseeing the club’s par-72 course, its staff and the huge number of visiting players from around the world, often up to 240 per day. will be incurred. A popular destination for Scandinavian golfers, especially those from Denmark, Miguel Calvin is exploring the new golf legend Seve Ballesteros’ layout on the island of Porto Santo, accessible by ferry or plane from the main island of Madeira. It will also be tasked with attracting markets.

Porto Santo Golfe is one of three golf venues in Madeira, a fast-growing golf destination, along with Palheiro Golf and Club de Golf Santo da Serra.
A third course on the main island of the Portuguese archipelago, the Sir Nick Faldo-designed Ponta do Pargo, is currently under development and scheduled to open in 2026.
