“She’s a total supermodel,” Minnesota Lynx star Dorka Juhasz commented on NYFW snapshots of University of Connecticut Huskies player Paige Bueckers. Bueckers has had the best fashion experience this summer. From making her New York Fashion Week debut to attending the U.S. Open in perhaps her best outfit of the year, Bueckers has been captivating with her glamorous side wherever she goes. But contrary to expectations, the 22-year-old hasn’t been rocking the same look while attending classes at the University of Connecticut. Instead, she’s keeping it casual and simple. And during one of our recent chats, she revealed the reason behind her unconventional choices.
The security guard spoke to Vogue magazine on Wednesday and opened up about his shocking outfit choice while taking the class.

The Minnesota native revealed that while she loves “crop tops, jackets and pants combinations,” she keeps things simple at college. Describing her style as a mix of “masculine and feminine,” Bueckers said she likes “patterns, pastels, vests and cardigans.” However, when it comes to class, the 2021 Naismith College Player of the Year dresses “pretty casually,” often in a “sweatshirt and sweatpants combo,” according to Vogue.
Has Paige Bueckers redefined college basketball fashion? React!
Her confession to Vogue came as a shock to many, considering the husky recently made her NYFW debut and was spotted wearing luxury brands. She attended events for luxury brands such as Tombogo, Who Decides War, Off-White, and Nike. Her butterfly-inspired outfit by Off-White was particularly eye-catching. The 2021 John R. Wooden Award recipient wore a long black jacket over loose jeans emblazoned with multi-colored butterflies.

Meanwhile, she mixed easy streetwear and style in an oversized white t-shirt and camo sweatpants, while teammate Aji Fuad rocked a Tombogo shirtdress. Meanwhile, at Who Decides War, Booker paired a mustard sweatshirt with rugged, multicolored jeans. Her summer was definitely full of mystical brands, and the man behind her sensational look was stylist Brittany Hampton, who she thanked in another section of the chat.

Praising Hampton’s charming side, Bueckers added that she enjoys working with her because the two “understand each other and she knows what I like and what I don’t like.” Bueckers added that Hampton knows how to motivate her to get out of her comfort zone and “what boundaries to push,” concluding that she also gives Bueckers the freedom to reject her ideas if they don’t suit her.

Perhaps it’s Hampton’s incredible fashion sense and exceptional people management skills that has earned her a star clientele that includes Nika Muhl, Sloane Stephens, Russell Westbrook, and Victor Cruz.
But now that he’s back to normal college life, Bueckers is dressing for the occasion — and maybe saving his best outfits for a future time when he has some cherished college basketball moments.
