Construction is underway on a new 213-unit luxury apartment complex near the intersection of Market Street and Holden Road.
Known as “The Lindley,” the development is a project of Cooley Corp. The Greensboro-based real estate company’s holdings include 1,400 apartments, 1,400 hotel rooms and 3 million square feet of commercial space, according to its website.
Cooley President Richard Vanore said construction on Lindley is expected to begin in the winter and be completed next fall.
Vannoa couldn’t say how much the apartments would rent for, but described them as luxury properties.
“I would say this is a premium type of product,” he said.
Vanore listed amenities available in the enclosed gated community as including a pool with cabanas, a grilling station, a golf simulator, a spa, bike storage and repair areas, a car wash and a fitness area with a Peloton station and a bocce court.

He also noted the project’s proximity to Friendly Shopping Center, Greensboro Botanical Gardens and downtown Greensboro.
The city has seen an increase in new housing construction over the past few years. In February, the Greensboro Department of City Planning reported that the city plans to build more than 5,000 new housing units through rezoning and annexation.
The Carroll Companies, another prominent local developer, plans to begin construction downtown in the coming months on a complex that will include 337 apartments and 159 hotel rooms, as well as retail space.
Vanore said conditions for development in Greensboro remain favorable.
“I would say the trends have stabilized a little bit in terms of what’s coming out of the ground in the community, but I think it’s a positive environment,” he said.
