This year’s Honor Guard is comprised of members of the Tri-Cities Professional Firefighters Honor Guard along with members of the Kennewick Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Department. The City of Kennewick is one of only a few communities in the nation that received steel from the World Trade Center and we are very proud to have this memorial in Kennewick. Lampson International worked with the City of Kennewick, the Port Authority of New York and the Port Authority of New Jersey to facilitate the transportation and fabrication of the memorial. The memorial quickly grew into a community-wide volunteer project with numerous local businesses and residents pitching in and making generous donations. The three-ton, 35-foot tall memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2011.
