Here’s how to find and claim your unclaimed money.
Visit Unclaimed.org and scroll down to select your state. Follow the instructions to search for unclaimed funds from your state. If you find a match, please fill out the claim form. Most states and localities require you to fill out certain forms. You will be asked for relevant information about the property and proof of ownership, such as copies of checkbooks, bankbooks, bonds, etc. Follow the instructions and fill out the provided form. Additional documentation may be required for verification. The claim form and identification documents are then mailed to the state for review. The state will review your submission and respond directly to you after verifying that you are the legal owner. Most states will send you a confirmation after they receive your claim. Claim processing schedules vary depending on claim activity in your state.
Tip: Unclaimed property is reported to the state where the company or organization resides. It is not uncommon to have unclaimed money in multiple states. This is especially true if you move to another location.

I check this every time you post this and find money for friends and family. Then I tell them where and how to apply for funds. We found nearly $10,000 total! In my case it’s $0.00! I did it once at a relative’s class reunion banquet. We had people pull out their phones and look them up right away. Almost 25% of the rooms had no money and now they have found it.
Please keep checking back. Run it every few months, as the information changes regularly. – Sonya, Hip Leader
I received a check for about 700.00!!!! I also found money for my dad and mom! This is very valuable information. I wanted to say 1 million thanks! – Hip Leader, Jackie
I’ve been doing these searches for years, not just for myself, but for my family. I once found a large amount of money for my aunt. My aunt insisted on giving me a “discovery fee” for my 80-year-old self, but she said she would never have found it on her own. lol. I have another family member who won’t file a claim because they think it’s a scam. I assured her it was .gov and not a scam. There’s not much you can do to convince her. hip leader, cindy
