βΎ Good morning everyone, especially…
new york yankees
When the Yankees called out to their ace, he answered. Gerrit Cole pitched well, giving up one run in seven innings, leading the Pinstripes to a 3-1 victory in Game 4 and their fourth ALCS appearance in eight years.
Juan Soto took the lead with an RBI hit from Gleyber Torres on his third pitch of the game, and Torres and Giancarlo Stanton scored in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively. That was just the support Cole needed. His final pitch was launched by Kyle Isbell, but the ball disappeared on a warning trajectory just a few feet from what would have been a game-winning two-run homer.
From there, Clay Holmes and Luke Weaver provided the finishing touches.
The Yankees will have to wait until Saturday to decide on their opponent after the Guardians defeated the Tigers 5-4 in Detroit to force a winner-take-all Game 5.
The Guardians entered the game with a franchise playoff record 20 consecutive scoreless innings, but Lane Thomas scored an RBI in the first inning and Jose Ramirez hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. Still, the Guardians entered the seventh inning with a 3-2 lead, and pinch hitter David Frye hit a two-run home run. Frye added an insurance run in the ninth inning, which ended up being huge considering the Tigers scored one run off Emmanuel Clase before finally closing the door.
In Game 5, likely AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal will face Matthew Boyd, the same matchup he played in Game 2, which Detroit won 3-0. Perhaps this performance will give Cleveland’s offense a boost. It probably won’t matter against Skubal. It would be great to know that.
π Honorable Mention
βΎ And there’s no such thing as a good morning…
kansas city royals
There’s only one team that can end the season happily, and it’s not the Royals. But a year after losing 106 games, Kansas City made a remarkable comeback. There are better days aheadwrites Dane Perry.

π 49ers beat Seahawks in key NFC West tournament and earn NFL Week 6 pick
It hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the 49ers this season, but they are still a force to be reckoned with in the NFC West. Brock Purdy threw three touchdowns and San Francisco had 228 rushing yards (6.9 yards per carry) in a 36-24 victory over the Seahawks. San Francisco has won six straight against Seattle (including the playoffs).
The 49ers, still awaiting the return of Christian McCaffrey, saw Jordan Mason (shoulder). leave early. it doesn’t matter. Isaac Guerend gained 99 yards on 10 carries and Kyle Juszczyk found the end zone. Meanwhile, Purdy shredded Seattle’s struggling defense. Two touchdowns were scored by George Kittle and the other by Deebo Samuel Sr.
Seattle has big problems on both sides. The Seahawks can’t stop the run, they can’t stop the pass, and they can’t run. The offense relies heavily on Geno Smith, and that imbalance is quickly catching up with them. Seattle, which started with 3 wins and 0 losses, is now 0 wins and 3 losses, and is clearly on a downward trend.
OK, I’m looking forward to the weekend. Here are some headliners: Ravens Commanding Officer (here Both offenses in progress) and Cowboys Lions. Regarding the latter, Tyler Sullivan says:
Sullivan: βUnder Dan Campbell, the Lions are 6-2 ATS as road favorites, while the Cowboys are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games. It’s also worth noting the remaining advantage the Lions will have with the bye, 10-2 ATS in the remaining 12 games after the bye week. Expected score: Lions 30, Cowboys 24 | Lions -3.5.
Before that, we have a very interesting game between the Cardinals and Packers. Pete Prisco says…
Prisco: “The Cardinals are on the road for the second straight week after getting upset by the 49ers. They rallied to do it. That says a lot about them as a team. But it’s also a tough task. The Packers haven’t had success with that.”The offense is still bad as Jordan Love recovers from his knee injury, but things will change here: Packers 33, Cardinals 21.”
Here are our expert recommendations/best practices:
pete prisco | Will Brinson | John Breech | tyler sullivan | Jordan Dajani
On the other hand, last week they were 3-0, but this season they are 10-3 (!!!). This weekend we…
The Ravens are better than the Commanders, the Steelers are better than the Raiders, the Bengals are better than the Giants.
π College Football Week 7 Picks, Preview: No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Oregon State gets a lot of attention
Oh, what a great college football weekend! Don’t waste your time.
No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Oregon (preview) is not only the biggest game of the week, but definitely the biggest game of the season. The Buckeyes have been near the top of the polls all season. This is their chance to show they deserve the top spotwrites Dennis Dodd. The Ducks, on the other hand, have spent this century at or near the spotlight as a fun team with fun uniforms in the Pacific Northwest. However, this is also an opportunity for them to make a breakthrough.
There are also lots of fun player stories. Transferred quarterbacks Will Howard and Dillon Gabriel will be dueling. Gabriel needs to leave. A few Buckeyes stars who were mostly ducks. Return to the Pacific Northwest. And of course, there’s must-watch Ohio State freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Already might be the best in college football..
Texas will face No. 18 Oklahoma for first place (preview) with Quinn Ewers Back to Longhorn. The Red River rivalry is SEC debutAnd the more Ohio State makes noise with its victory, Longhorns have plenty of room to impressalso says Shehan Jeyarajah.
Staying in the SEC, No. 9 Ole Miss visits No. 13 LSU (preview), this game actually has Most of the impact on the College Football Playoff More than any other week this week, Will Backus writes. Both teams have one loss. Even two seconds could put their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy. So who will emerge victorious? Tom Fornelli has his own. Best bet for a six pack.
Fornelli: “LSU has a lot of weapons on offense, a quarterback who delivers the ball well, and an offensive line with NFL players, including at both tackle spots. … None to speak of.” Ole Miss Can’t revitalize LSU’s defense…Jackson Dart and company will have a lot of success, but I’m not sure LSU will be a tough team to beat at home. , especially on a night when Tiger Stadium gets wild. The Pick: LSU +3.5 (-110).β

π WNBA Finals Game 1: Lynx defeat Liberty in wild overtime thriller
If Game 1 is any indication of what’s to come, we’re in for the best WNBA Finals of all time. The Lynx defeated Liberty 95-93 in overtime after a completely absurd ending in regulation and overtime.
New York led by 18 points overall and led by 15 with less than five minutes left in regulation, shutting out Minnesota 18-3. But that’s not all. Minnesota actually took the lead after Courtney Williams’ four-point play with 5.1 seconds left. With less than a minute left, Brianna Stewart was fouled and made the first free throw, but missed the second. Minnesota led by four points in overtime, and with less than a minute left, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones made back-to-back buckets off turnovers to tie the game. Minnesota picked themselves up and found their best player. Napheesa Collier hit a turnaround jumper with 8.1 seconds left, and Stewart missed a layup as time expired. Jack Maroney relived All of the craziest moments.
Phew. What a strange and wonderful basketball game. It was a really nifty performance for Minnesota, with Williams scoring 23 points, Kayla McBride 22 points and Collier 21 points. What a tough pill for Stewart to swallow. Minnesota’s phenom is on the right path. The winner of Game 1 of the Finals will win the series for the sixth consecutive year.
Finally, this year is the final year of the five-game finals. That’s right, that’s Transition to 7-game series There will be next year too Further changes come. That means more games like this, which I’m all for.
