Former Ukrainian commander-in-chief Valery Zarzhny claims that the world has officially entered the stage of World War III. According to Zarzhny, this is evidenced by the direct involvement of two superpowers, Russia and the United States, in the war against Ukraine. He suggests the conflict has expanded beyond a regional war with Russia and now involves global players such as North Korea, Iran, and potentially China.
“World War III has officially begun”
Valery Zaruzhny, currently the special envoy of Ukraine to the UK, spoke at the UP100 awards ceremony in Ukraine Pravda. “I think you can absolutely believe that World War III will start in 2024,” he said, according to Politico.
He cited the presence of North Korean soldiers, Iranian drones openly targeting civilians, and the presence of North Korean and Chinese forces on the battlefield as evidence that the war has a broader, international dimension. It cites the influx of weapons. “Because in 2024, Ukraine will no longer be facing Russia. North Korean soldiers will be standing in front of Ukraine. Let’s be honest. Already in Ukraine, Iranian ‘Shahidis’ are openly fighting civilians. They are killing people, and they are not ashamed.”Russia has sent 50,000 troops from both Russia and North Korea to the Kursk region to take back territory lost to Ukraine.

Zarzhini calls for help, warns of dire consequences
Mr. Zarzhny was dismissed from his military post in February amid reports of disagreements with Mr. Zelensky over war strategy. His growing popularity and influence, seen by some as a potential political challenge to Zelenskiy, also played a role in his ouster. In his latest speech, the former military leader urged Ukraine’s allies to take decisive action to prevent the conflict from spiraling further. “It is still possible to stop this war here on the territory of Ukraine. But for some reason, our partners refuse to understand this.”
He pointed to the growing number of adversaries and emphasized the growing pressure on Ukraine. “Thanks to advanced technology, Ukraine can endure, but without greater support, victory remains uncertain,” he warned.

Russia fires ballistic missile into Ukraine on Thursday
Speculation about the outbreak of World War III intensified following US President Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to deploy long-range missiles provided by the US against Russian targets. In response, Russia launched a new ballistic missile toward Ukraine on Thursday. President Putin has previously warned that countries supplying weapons to Ukraine, including the United States and Britain, would be targeted by Russian missiles.
Russian President Vladimir Putin clarified reports about the airstrike, saying the Russian military used medium-range hypersonic missiles to attack facilities in Dnipropetrovsk. “This is a clear and serious escalation of the scale and brutality of this war,” President Zelenskiy said. Meanwhile, the presence of more than 10,000 North Korean troops in Moscow was a key factor in the US and UK decision to authorize Ukraine’s missile attack on Russia.
