U.S. News & World Report once again recognizes Western Kentucky University as a top institution for online learning, ranking WKU’s online bachelor’s degree program 71st in the nation.
The 2025 rankings were determined based on factors such as program participation, services and technology, faculty qualifications and training, and expert opinion. “U.S. News selected factors that considered how these programs are offered and their effectiveness in awarding affordable degrees within a reasonable time frame,” the report states.

WKU’s online courses are designed to fit busy schedules, allowing learners to complete their degrees without interrupting their lives. Courses are taught by experienced faculty who also teach on campus, ensuring online learners receive the same excellent education as in-person students.

Several individual programs also achieved impressive rankings this year. WKU’s online undergraduate business program ranked No. 41 domestically. Veterans Affairs bachelor’s programs rose to 37th, Veterans Affairs MBA programs rose to 49th, and Veterans Affairs graduate education ranked 31st. Additionally, the MBA program secured 75th place and graduate education secured 104th place. .
WKU offers more than 80 degree options online, including certificates, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees and Ph.D. program. All programs are regionally accredited.
