This is an economical smoke detector that is very easy to install. The instructions helped with proper placement. A small booklet also provides instructions on how to clean and test the unit. To comply with new ordinances in my town, I had to add a smoke detector to my bedroom (currently the main detector was literally in the hallway outside my bedroom door, but I also had to add a smoke detector to my bedroom). I needed one). If you go to Home Depot, the cheapest items are over $20 and huge. This was compact and reasonably priced. I will recommend them to all my friends, especially if you are replacing multiple units.
We have an older house and some rooms don’t have a central alarm system, so for years I’ve had to set a calendar reminder to reinstall the batteries in all my fire alarms. did. How painful that is! But the only thing that’s more painful is that one of them decides to start chirping, usually at 3am, and then you have to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out which one is the culprit. Oh, oh. The alarms are getting old, so I’m going to replace them with these. I love how compact this unit is. It takes up much less wall and ceiling space than standard alarms. It’s also lightweight enough that I only need to use mounting tape instead of screws, which has been great so far.
