Des Moines, Iowa (Greymedia Iowa State Capitol Office) — Adam Greg, who served as Iowa’s lieutenant governor for seven and a half years, hopes that his new role will help Iowans inform about the risks of financial fraud.
Greg is currently president/CEO of the Iowa Banks Association and represents more than 275 financial institutions in the state.
He warns that 57,000 Americans are victims of check fraud every day, experiencing a loss of $430 million every day.
He recommends paying online instead of using a check. If you need to use a check, we will deliver checks whenever possible.
Markers use markers to sign checks instead of ballpoint pens. Markers are also recommended as they are more difficult for con artists to erase and replace.
Gregg advises IOWANS to check out PracticesAfechecks.com for safer tips.
New Government
This week, the Common Sense Institute hosted two governors at Des Moines.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds are both Republicans and were asked by moderator, President Joe Murphy of the Iowa Business Council, after what he thought at the White House, the first two months before President Donald Trump.
