Three Georgia cities are ranked among the nation’s top cities for retirement, according to U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News & World Report analyzed data from 150 cities to determine how well they met certain criteria, including resident happiness, housing affordability, tax rates, and health care.
No. 51 on the list is Augusta, located near the South Carolina state line. While some may know this town as the home of the Masters Golf Tournament, residents and locals see it as much more than that.
“Today, Augusta has a thriving culinary scene and residents have a deep appreciation for the arts and the outdoors,” U.S. News wrote. “Augusta is also becoming a destination for retirees seeking a warmer climate and lower cost of living. Additionally, the nearby towns of Evans, Martinez, and Grovetown suburbs are becoming a popular destination for families to settle down and commute downtown. It’s the perfect place.”
