Westfield UTC, an outdoor shopping center in University City near the University of California, San Diego, has announced four new stores opening this fall, including a toy store and three clothing stores.
New openings include toy company POP MART, Japanese clothing store UNIQLO with an emphasis on lifewear, clothing store for “do-it-yourself” people BYLT Premium Basics and beach-themed apparel store Faherty.
Additionally, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, a New York-based ice cream parlour chain; Lola 55, a Mexican restaurant known for its tacos and cocktails; and Melo Melo, a coconut-based dessert chain, are scheduled to open in the centre later this year.
Here are four stores opening at Westfield UTC this fall.
Pop Mart
POP MART is a toy company that produces numerous collectible and designer toys, including toys for famous characters such as MOLLY, The Monsters, DIMOO, Skullpanda, etc. With presence in more than 23 countries and regions through a network of over 350 offline stores and over 2,000 robot shops, POP MART opened this month at Westfield UTC, catering to the needs of San Diego’s many pop culture, comics and art fans.
UNIQLO
Opening in October, UNIQLO will introduce Lifewear, designed with high-quality materials and focusing on practicality and comfort in everyday life. UNIQLO continues to create apparel based on the Japanese values of simplicity, quality and longevity, crafting clothes that focus on universal design, the best fit and comfort. As one of the brand’s newest stores, UNIQLO will host an opening event in October that will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, exclusive promotions, giveaways and a special customer experience.
BYLT Premium Basics
Founded in 2016, BYLT offers transition apparel, footwear and accessories consisting of tailored apparel and enhanced designs for the “motivated, pioneering and ambitious.”To celebrate the store’s grand opening on August 24th from 10am to 3pm, the store will offer a host of special offers and activities, including a free tote bag for the first 100 customers, free coffee, “spin to win” prizes, drawings for gift cards and collectible prizes and a free PCH hat with any purchase of $50 or more.
Faherty
With over a decade of history, Faherty is a family-owned, high-quality clothing brand that is “inspired by all-day surf sessions, road trips and beach bonfires.” To celebrate the UTC store’s opening on August 23, the store will host a Summer Friday Celebration from 3-6 p.m. featuring refreshing beverages, hors d’oeuvres, live music and the opportunity to meet co-founder and CEO Alex Faherty.
