President-elect Donald Trump took to the stage on Sunday at a rally in Washington, less than a day before his inauguration.

Mr. Trump, consistent with the framework he often used during his campaign, criticized Mr. Biden for what he called a “failed administration” and promised to “end the rule of a failed and corrupt system of government.”

“Tomorrow at noon, four years of American decline will end and a brand new day of American strength, prosperity, dignity and pride will begin,” he told supporters.
President Trump took credit for the release of the first hostages from the Gaza Strip, rejecting Biden’s claim that he also took credit for the deal.
“We accomplished more without them being president than they accomplished in their first four years as president,” Trump said, recalling those days.
President Trump also said, “TikTok is back today,” to loud applause. President Trump credits TikTok with helping him perform much better with young voters than the Republican Party to date.
“Frankly, we have no choice. We have to save it. Lots of jobs. We don’t want to give our business to China. We don’t want to give our business to someone else. I don’t want to give it to you.”
President Trump has signaled that he would use his influence to explore a joint venture in which the U.S. government would own half of the company without contributing any money.
“So whether you like TikTok or not, we’re going to make a lot of money,” Trump said.

Mr. Trump repeated some of his campaign statements on immigration, including his baseless claim that foreign governments are “emptying” American prisons, jails and psychiatric hospitals.
He said he was criticized by reporters for repeatedly bringing up the fictional character Hannibal Lecter during the campaign, but suggested that some immigrants living in the United States were “probably worse.”
He teased plans for mass deportations without going into details, and the crowd applauded.
Trump concluded his hour-long speech with a performance by villagers singing the national anthem “YMCA,” which concludes nearly all Trump rallies. He swayed on stage, banged his head, and sang along to the performance.
