There were a number of big wins in fall sports across the Greater Savannah area last week.
The Savannah Christian softball team won a big victory over South Effingham, while the Richmond Hill softball team swept Tift County in a crucial three-game region series.
Effingham County’s softball team continued to play well, and volleyball also saw some noteworthy plays from some of the area’s powerhouse teams.

Here are this week’s nominees.
Adrianna Williams, Richmond Hill Softball
The junior played a key role in the Wildcat softball team’s three-game Region 1-6A victory over Tift County. She pitched 14 innings, pitching two complete games and striking out 14 batters. She also led the offense with four hits, including two doubles, and four RBIs.
Jillian Austin, Savannah Christian Softball
The junior was hard at work in the pitching circle, striking out six and allowing four hits and no earned runs in a 6-2 win over South Effingham, and also went 2-for-2 at the plate with one RBI and one stolen base.
Megan Coleman, Effingham County Softball
The senior went 3-for-4 at bat to lead the Rebels (11-2) to a win over Lakeside.
Peyton Livingston, Savannah Christian softball
The senior center fielder was 2-for-4 with one double, two stolen bases, two runs scored and three RBIs in the win over South Effingham.
Ansley Giordano, Effingham County Softball
The junior struck out eight batters against Lakeside, earning another win for the pitchers.
Brownie Olson, Habersham School Volleyball
The junior recorded 13 kills at the Augusta Prep Tournament to lead the Patriots to the Silver Division title, and she leads the Patriots (21-9) with 207 kills this season.
Lily Coffey, Savannah Arts Volleyball
The senior had 18 assists in the win over Effingham County, and she leads the Panthers (19-13) with 339 assists this year.
Reece Theriot, Savannah Christian volleyball
The senior had six kills, two aces, nine digs and eight service receptions in the Raiders’ (18-7, 8-0 Area 1-3A) 25-21, 25-16 win over Savannah Country Day.
Emma Overby, Calvary Day Softball
The senior went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI, striking out 6 and allowing just 1 run in 5 innings in an 11-1 win over the Islanders.
Talia Johnson, Richmond Hill Volleyball
The junior scored 11 points in the win over Habersham School, and the Coastal Carolina University commit now leads the Wildcats (17-10, 5-0 Region 1-6A) with 229 points this season.
Ben Fluegel, South Effingham Cross Country
The junior finished third in the 5K course at the Augusta Prep Invitational with a time of 16:47.71.
Natalie Meregalli, South Effingham Cross Country
The freshman placed fourth at the Augusta Prep Invitational with a time of 21:34.00.
