Hall of Fame Sterling Sharp received a family welcome welcome to the most exclusive clubs of Pro Football.
Shannon, a brother to Shannon, a 2011 Hall of Fame enrollee, wore a gold jacket to surprise Sterling with the news that he was heading to enshriment in Canton, Ohio.
“Every night in that 1,000-square-foot house, all the prayers Grandma and Libby prayed that they didn’t even know that God was hearing,” Shannon told Sterling. “To have this moment and I have had some great moments in my professional life, which I am the most proud of in my life.”
Sterling, three years older than Shannon, played seven NFL seasons as a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers. He had 595 catches and 65 touchdowns for 8,134 yards in his career. He was selected to five Pro Bowls and three times as a first team All-Pro.
His career was shortened due to a neck injury, and he soon joined the NFL network as an analyst. He was a Hall of Fame finalist in the Senior Category, along with Maxie Baughan and Jim Tyrer. This category consists of players who had their last professional game before 1999.
Sharp will join Antonio Gates, Jared Allen and Eric Allen as 2025 members. It is the smallest class since 2005. Sterling and Shannon became the first brothers to be enshrined in Canton.
The 2025 Profile Football Hall of Fame Ceremony will be held on August 2nd.
