I may sound romantic, but something inside me rebelles against commercialized holidays (like Valentine’s Day). You will never find yourself buying a candy or flower heart-shaped box that will die in a few days. But I have some other ideas that have been hits in the past or caught my attention.
Whether it’s for your loved one, best friend, or just for your self-care you need, there are a few ideas for the best Valentine’s Day gifts!
Upgrade this Valentine’s Day!
I love the day that is a reminder to tell my family how much I love and appreciate them. However, this particular holiday has become a homage to candies and store-bought items that will lose value a few days later. I don’t have too many sweet teeth and I certainly don’t need a huge gift box full of truffles.
Our marketing team has determined that Valentine’s Day is the best time to sell flowers and candies, so we all feel that we need to spend a lot of money on expensive dates and gifts.
If you spend $160 on Valentine’s Day (Average according to Business Insider… Does anyone actually do that?!), there are a few gift ideas that bring lasting health and happiness, rather than a temporary sugar rush there is!
This Valentine’s Day Gift Guide has unique gift ideas, including last minute V-Day ideas DIY gifts.
The gift of “I love you”
The challenge I give is to stop making expensive gifts and give myself a reason to become more creative and thoughtful with my gifts. As a result, I have a file containing handwritten letters and memorial items from memorable events in the past. These mean far more than a box of chocolate!
In my opinion, all the best gifts are quality time or shared experiences. This is what I give to my family this year and I would recommend you consider it too! This is a list of all my favorite experiences to give as gifts, but there are also some specific Valentine’s Day ideas!
My Favorite Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas
If you want to make an actual gift this year, these are some of my favorite ideas. Your recipients will love them and you can feel great about giving them! They may not all be trending in Tiktok, but they make the perfect choice (in my opinion) on date nights and anytime.
Couple Gift Ideas
If necessary, you can purchase one of both high quality gifts rather than making separate gifts. This way you can get a little more expensive item and enjoy it for the next few months or years. Some of my favourites are:
Myobuddy – One of my favorite gifts! This is a combination of percussive massage, infrared heat and myofascial release in one device. It’s so relaxing and now it’s part of our daily routine. Use Code Wellness Mama for a discount. JOOVV – Another co-gift that will become part of my everyday life. The Bluetooth feature is optional when connecting to the tracking app. Therefore, the EMF is lower. Red light therapy has many benefits (used primarily to boost the skin and hair). In this post, we will explain Red Light Therapy (also known as Photobiomodulation) and why it works. Sauna – Kids call our sauna “quiet boxes” and getting away from a few minutes of quiet time and infrared heat is a double victory every day. Sauna therapy has some well-documented benefits and is relaxing. Wine – Wine is already a popular Valentine’s Day gift, but many wines have added sugar, artificial colours, or flavors, or other odd things you don’t think you’ll find in wine. I really save wine for a big opportunity, but now I’m stuck with a lower alcohol, sugar-free, dry farm wine that has been tested in the lab, which is less than lab-tested. Non-toxic Candles – Set the mood with these naturally scented candles. They use essential oils instead of toxic scents. Chemex – I love my Glass Chemex Coffeemaker. Make high quality poured coffee from a coffee house at home. The perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the foodie of your life! Wonder Monday Cheesecakes – These small cheesecakes pack a large flavour. They are low in carbohydrates, gluten-free, protein-rich and delicious. Couple Book Q&A 1 Day – A book with daily questions for couples to read and answer together. This is a follow-up to the popular Q&A for Kids Book. Great conversation starters and fun 5 minutes of daily activities.
Valentine’s Day Gift for Her:
Directional Massage Pillow – Lower than the actual massage price and very relax! Organic Cotton Robe – I got this organic cotton robe for Christmas and love it! It’s so soft and has a belt attached, so I won’t lose it. Dream Cream – Gorgeous skin gift! I love this night cream from Purity Woods. Made with the highest quality skincare ingredients, no junk! Rtic Tumbler – I love this for hot or cold drinks, it’s a reusable non-plastic drink cup. 10,000 Lux Happy Light – Do you feel blue this winter? I use this super bright “happy light” to keep my cortisol levels healthy. Dry brushing – Brushing isn’t just about hair and teeth. Brushing your skin can be smooth and supple, and can improve collagen. French Press Coffee Maker – No more love than coffee! (Coffee = my love language!) Piquetty – If coffee is not hers or you like to mix it up. This tea has a delicious taste and also helps intestinal health. Share it with the matcha latte recipe. Adult Coloring Books and Markers – Adult Coloring Books are still popular, indicating that coloring can reduce stress levels. Essential Oils – Use for aromatherapy massages or spread to set your mood. There are never too many high quality essential oils!
Valentine’s Day Gift for Him:
Fire Starter Kit – He can literally “lit” the fire with this tool, allowing him to start a match or a light fire. Smartwool Socks – Warm socks perfect for summer and winter. Surefire Flashlight – A truly high quality pocket flashlight. Perfect for camping and power outages. Wine Aerator – Wine=Love Language Beard Oil – The perfect option for the bearded man in your life! Defender Pad – Protects the wrap from EMF when using a laptop. Tactical Pen – It’s not just a pen, it works in all conditions and can break the car windows if a person is trapped. Whiskey Stones – Freeze these stainless steel blocks and use them with drinks “on the rocks” instead of ice. Spices – A flavourful spice created by my friend and female world champion boxer, Lyla Ali.
Homemade Gift Ideas
Would you rather give a gift? Try these simple homemade gifts:
Amazing Massage – Get this digital massage course and learn how to give your love a great massage at home! It’s cheaper than a massage package and you can also adjust your time to a fulfilling time. Don’t worry; it’s all PG rate! Make your own massage butter and pair it with your gift. Homemade Chocolate: If you’re planning on doing chocolate things, why not actually make good gourmet chocolate for you? This is my favorite homemade recipe made with cocoa butter and raw honey. You can either top it with a bit of sea salt for the salted version or add food grade peppermint essential oil for mint flavor. This recipe works very well for making chocolate covered strawberries (or other fruits) or as a magic shell for homemade ice cream. Creative and Fun Dates: I share my 7 favorite rare dating ideas in this post, but anything that leaves you home and splits the standard is fun. I once made a scavenger hunt where I gave his car one clue after work, but each clue led him to a new clue until he finally reached the date place (outside (Picnic and we played Frisbee). In the long run, it will be creative dates and the time they spend together. Breakfast in Bed – This classic is a great way to get a comfortable snuggle in the bed while you’re eating. You can leave a love note on your pillowcase to wake up in the morning. And if it’s about you, start the night before with matching pajama sets. Or, dads can coordinate with their kids and give mommy breakfast and much needed breaks in bed! Homemade Lotion Bar: Lotion Bar is the perfect DIY gift idea for Valentine’s Day. They are completely natural skincare and can be customized for men or women. Make them with any shape of silicone mold and create a bouquet of flowers in a lotion bar (features such a mold). Or stick to a simple bar (like this) for guys. Dried Flower Art: If moms love fresh flowers, they dry out the flowers and give them a sentimental gift that continues. DIY Lip Balm Necklace – This pendant necklace is a fun and unique gift. You can also give it to your friends for Garentine’s Day. For a beautiful way to moisturize your lips on a winter day, it just has the right amount of lip balm. Plus, there are gems! Photo Book – Create photos of past dates, trips and favorite memories together.
If your child wants to participate, here are some simple Valentine’s Day crafts. They can even make homemade Valentine’s Day cards for their families.
