AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas at Austin was once again named one of the top universities in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s latest undergraduate rankings, released today, rising two spots to No. 7 among public universities and remaining No. 1 among public universities in Texas. UT rose to No. 30 overall among both public and private universities.
“As I noted in my State of the University address last week, this is an extraordinary time for the University of Texas, and in part that’s because of the breadth and depth of our institution,” said University of Texas President Jay Hartzell. “We leverage our strengths to develop adaptable, accomplished students and to collaboratively seek solutions to society’s greatest challenges. The opportunities we offer our students and the extraordinary talents of our faculty are reflected in our top 10 rankings in 26 undergraduate programs. Given all of this, it’s no wonder that applications for admission to the Longhorns are at an all-time high.”
UT continues to be the top university in Texas for veterans, rising to No. 14 in the nation. Additionally, the university was ranked No. 1 in Texas and No. 19 in the nation as the most innovative university, and No. 4 among public universities as a study abroad destination.
