South Florida’s home game against Memphis will be held in Orlando.
The American Athletic Conference announced Thursday that the Bulls game will be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando at 3:30 p.m. ET instead of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed one day ahead of Hurricane Milton.
Milton made landfall just south of the Tampa area, causing damage up and down the Florida Gulf Coast, with at least 10 confirmed deaths from the storm. The roof of St. Petersburg’s Tropicana Field dome was ripped off when the hurricane made landfall late Wednesday night.
The move to Orlando means the city will host two college football games on Saturdays. UCF’s home game in Cincinnati will also be at the same time at FBC Mortgage Stadium, the Knights’ home stadium. UCF announced in a statement Thursday night that it plans to resume normal campus operations on Saturday and games will be played as scheduled.
Camping World Stadium serves as the venue for the Cure Bowl, Poptarts Bowl, and Citrus Bowl.
The USF game will be the only FBS game affected by the hurricanes, as Florida Atlantic’s game against North Texas in Boca Raton will kick off as scheduled at 7 p.m. ET. There are only three Florida teams playing at home in Week 7: USF, UCF, and FAU. USF enters the game with a 2-3 record, while Memphis is 4-1 and already has a win over a team from Florida in Week 3 this year. Florida.
