An American woman and her two children died after jumping from Niagara Falls on Monday night, The Independent reported. The woman, identified as 33-year-old Canty Means, intentionally crossed the falls by climbing over a safety fence with her two children, ages 9 years and 5 months. Authorities arrived at the scene around 9pm on Monday and determined the family had climbed over the railroad tracks on Luna Island, a popular tourist spot above a 60-metre waterfall. Investigators determined the plunge was “deliberate.” State police said “the situation is still under investigation.”
“Investigation revealed that three children, Chianti Means, 33, Roman Rothman, 9, and Mecca Means, 5 months, all of Niagara Falls, New York, climbed over the safety guild fence and ran into Luna. “It was determined that he had crossed Niagara Falls on the island (belonging to Goat Island),” state police said in a news release, according to the outlet.
“After investigation, this incident was determined to be intentional, but the circumstances are still under investigation. New York State Park Police and State Police search and rescue operations have yielded negative results. is not considered to be a public threat to safety,” the ministry said. Added.
Ms. Canty, a mother of two, was a resident of Niagara Falls, where she lived with her children. As of Wednesday, there was no news about their bodies being found, the New York Post reported.

The 33-year-old worked as a domestic violence counselor and graduated from a school near Buffalo, according to her LinkedIn profile. Shortly after news of her death broke, tributes began pouring in from friends and family. “I was speechless, crying and couldn’t sleep at all,” her friend Keishona Morgan wrote on Facebook, adding: “My heart is broken. I’m in emotional pain.” Health is no joke. ”
