CANYON, Texas — West Texas A&M University’s online bachelor’s degree program has risen to No. 32 in the nation and ranks No. 4 in Texas, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Additionally, WT’s online bachelor’s degree program for veterans also rose significantly from 31st to 19th. The WT program is the #1 such program among Texas schools.
Several undergraduate and graduate programs also rank highly in the state and nationally in the new rankings, totaling 11 including online bachelor’s programs, online bachelor’s programs for veterans, online undergraduate business programs, online MBAs, and online MBAs. of programs have earned the magazine’s coveted Best Program status. Graduate programs in Veterans Affairs, Computer Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Education, Engineering, Business (non-MBA), and Nursing.

The overall ranking for online bachelor’s programs has increased from 45th place in 2024. It also rose in the national rankings. Graduate education programs rose from 127th to 114th. and graduate engineering programs from 37th to 31st.
The online MBA program for veterans ranks 62nd, or 7th overall among schools in Texas.
Eight of the 11 WT programs ranked in the top third of U.S. News & World Report.
Since 1997, WT has been a pioneer in online learning, with the fundamental reason being to provide easy access to higher education for students in the Panhandle region and beyond.
The ranked programs represent WT’s Graduate School, Paul & Virginia Engler College of Business, Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences, College of Engineering, and College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
U.S. News evaluated schools based on a variety of factors, including student engagement, teacher qualifications, and services and technology.
Now in its 13th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs are designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year’s edition evaluates more than 1,600 online bachelor’s and master’s programs using metrics specific to online learning. This ranking includes only degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
Programs in the Engler College of Business have been recognized as part of the Best Programs ranking for 13 consecutive years.
