US News & World Report Ranks H-SC Among Best Colleges

Hampden-Sydney College is ranked 103rd in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings.

Now in its 40th year, the rankings assess nearly 1,500 national universities across up to 17 measures of academic quality, with an emphasis on social mobility and graduate outcomes.

Each year, U.S. News publishes its Best Colleges rankings to provide prospective students and their families with a comparative look at undergraduate programs at U.S. universities and colleges. The rankings include detailed information about each institution and data on factors such as graduation rates, graduate debt, and outcome measures such as earnings after graduation.

Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, is a nationally acclaimed private men’s college that first held classes in 1775. The school’s mission is to prepare “good men and good citizens” and is known for its code of honor and conduct, 40-year-old rhetoric program, liberal arts courses, and dedicated alumni network.
