Orono – Orono High School was named Minnesota’s best public high school in 2018 by US News & World Report.
High school came in second overall in the state.
“Our alumni attend top colleges and universities in the country and frequently tell us how prepared they are for a rigorous university experience,” Principal Karen Oakut said. “At the same time, this ranking examines many efforts to ensure that all students achieve their potential.”
Nationally, US News & World Report said Orono is one of 210 of 28,813, or one of the top 1 percent. The high school was first placed in Minnesota for STEM education.
