U.S. News & World Report released a ranked list of 2,149 North Carolina elementary schools, including many in Western North Carolina.
The report used standard scores for four ranking indicators, including math and reading comprehension as well as math and reading comprehension. Based on these rankings, a score for each school was calculated from 0 to 100.
Scores for schools below the 25th percentile are hidden. Unranked schools serve special subgroups or have fewer than 20 students enrolled in federal datasets or fewer than 30 test takers in reading, language arts, or math. , or all public schools for which no usable state assessment data were available.
