LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — U.S. News & World Report announced the Best Diets of 2025, marking a shift from diet rankings to ratings.
The 15th edition evaluates 38 diets across 21 categories, with the Mediterranean diet once again emerging as the highest-rated diet in multiple categories.
“Best Diet’s updated rating system takes into account factors beyond weight loss and reflects the diverse needs and goals of individuals,” said Gretel Schuler, health editor at U.S. News. She went on to say, “By moving away from ranked lists of diets and nearly doubling the number of health and lifestyle categories evaluated, U.S. News is helping consumers better understand their health priorities and dietary goals.” We aim to provide a more personalized experience when considering.
The focus of healthy eating has expanded beyond weight loss to overall health and chronic disease prevention.
US News has introduced 12 new rating categories, including the best diet for arthritis, brain health and cognition, and mental health.
