HOUSTON — Urban Edge Network (UEN) has announced a partnership with HBCU Legends creator Kyle T. Mosley to produce a Black Sports Insider news show that will air on digital streaming platforms beginning September 1, 2024.
Each week, correspondents Kim Davis, Wilton Jackson, Keisha Kelly, Ray Rogers and Wole Asukino will have exclusive conversations with current and legendary athletes. Kyle T. Mosley will serve as executive producer and chief correspondent for the HBCU Legends and Black Sports Insiders shows.
“We’re excited to bring together the vibrant voices of the HBCU podcast community through our new lineup of programming,” said Hardy L. Pelt, chief revenue officer at Urban Edge Network.

Creator and executive producer Kyle T. Mosley will host the weekly series “Black Sports Insiders,” which will feature journalists Kim Davis, Wilton Jackson and Keisha J. Kelly. Ray Rogers and Woll from “The Urban Scene” will also appear on the weekly HBCU Legends broadcast.

Wilton Jackson II / Wilton Jackson II
Wilton Charles Jackson II is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. Wilton most recently served as a national reporter for Sports Illustrated for over three years and is also a journalism professor at Jackson State University.
Currently, Jackson’s reporting can be found on ESPN’s andscape, The Next Hoops and The Sporting News. Jackson previously worked as a breaking news/trend news/sports reporter at The Clarion-Ledger and as a digital content producer (breaking news/trends/sports) at WSB-TV in Atlanta.
Jackson earned his bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi in May 2015, his first master’s degree in mass communications/journalism from Louisiana State University in May 2019 and his second master’s degree in sports management from Jackson State University in April 2023.
He is proud to have been inducted into Kappa Iota, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, in the fall of 2012.

Kim Davis is a veteran media professional with over 30 years of experience working for major networks such as NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, BET and The WB. As a sports journalist, she has covered major events such as Houston Rockets championships, Astros World Series wins and over 10 Super Bowls, establishing herself as a trusted presence in sports media.
In addition to her career as a journalist, Kim founded KD Company, providing media training and crisis management consulting, and demonstrating her expertise in coaching clients to handle their stories effectively. Davis is a dynamic speaker and advocate involved with a variety of organizations. The City of Houston honored her by establishing a day named after her.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama and graduate of Southern University and A&M University, Keisha J. Kelly is the founder and CEO of the Black College Experience, an HBCU sports media company. Since 2011, she has worked in sports radio, hosting and producing multiple sports shows, and currently serves as the company’s CEO and sideline reporter.
Kelly has interviewed notable figures such as NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and covered major events such as the MEAC/SWAC Challenge and the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to HBCU sports media, including the 40 Under Forty award by the Southern University Alumni Association, and has participated in various conferences and panels highlighting his commitment to leadership and community service.

Ray T. Rogers is a media professional from Washington, DC with a background in mental health and substance use recovery. He is the co-creator, co-producer and on-air personality of the Urban Sports Scene podcast, which includes the “HBCU Corner” segment, which highlights athletic programs at Historically Black Institutions.
Ray has been a radio analyst, writer and contributor for WHAP Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM covering the Washington Commanders and Washington Wizards since 2017. Additionally, he serves as a reporter and studio analyst for the Roundball Report TV show, which focuses on high school, college and professional basketball teams in the Washington DC area.

Wole Akinso is a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md. He is the owner, co-producer and on-air personality of Urban Sports Scene, based in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area.
Wohle played a key role in creating the Urban Sports Scene section, known as the “HBCU Corner,” which focuses on athletic programs at historically black colleges and universities.

Urban Edge Network’s new HBCU Podcast Unification venture will feature hour-long broadcasts Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
The new show will debut at the prestigious Orange Blossom Classic over Labor Day weekend. The launch event, which will take place on September 1, 2024, will be broadcast live on-site as part of the fan festival.
