Michigan quarterback Davis Warren announced Saturday that he suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the Wolverines’ 19-13 win over Alabama in the LilliaQuest Bowl on Dec. 31.
“I can’t wait to get back on the field with my AA (Ann Arbor) friends and fight until I’m blue!” Warren, who left the bowl in the third quarter due to injury, wrote on social media.
Warren finished the season starting nine games, including wins over Ohio State and the Crimson Tide. He had 1,199 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
Once Warren recovers, there will be stiff competition to maintain his starting spot.
The Wolverines have the No. 1 rookie quarterback in the nation in Bryce Underwood, as well as Fresno State transfer Mikey Keene, who threw for 8,245 yards and 65 touchdowns in his career.
