Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration made several stops in Iowa. The first part of the visit was meeting with Iowans affected by this spring’s severe storms. The agency is working to help business owners recover from deadly tornadoes and floods. Officials were also here to celebrate National Black Business Month and stopped by Black & Bold Specialty Beverages, the first nationally operated black-owned coffee company. This is just one of many businesses the agency has supported that are now thriving, according to the agency. “It’s a great success story in Iowa, and we’re using this as an example of what the state can do by encouraging all the great ideas. This is really something we’re proud of,” said Isabel Casillas Guzman, commissioner for the Small Business Administration. Officials also met with homeowners to hear about their needs and ways the Small Business Administration can help.
