U.S. News & World Report ranks the University of Delaware and several of its undergraduate academic programs highly in its latest rankings.
Overall, UD ranked 86th out of 434 national universities and 44th out of the top 225 public universities.
UD’s chemical engineering program remains in the top 10 in the nation, ranking 4th out of 26 schools in the U.S. News 2025 Best Colleges rankings.
UD’s nursing program ranked 74th out of 686 universities, an improvement of 38 spots from last year.
In other rankings, UD ranks 51st out of 209 in engineering programs with a doctoral degree as the highest degree, 68th out of 681 in psychology programs, and 77th out of 532 in business programs.
The computer science program ranked 87th out of 584 schools, making UD 54th out of 166 best colleges for veterans among national universities.
The University of Delaware was also recognized as a Most Valuable School, one of 206 national universities to earn that honor.
This ranking is based on many factors, including student performance, reputation among higher education colleagues, student social mobility, faculty research and resources, and financial resources.
