Atkins High School ranks as the 33rd best public high school in North Carolina, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Atkins is the highest rated high school in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.
The annual survey of the nation’s best high schools takes into account criteria such as the number of students taking advanced placement courses, state assessment scores and graduation rates.
Nationally, Atkins was ranked 919th.
In North Carolina, two other high schools in the district are ranked in the top 100. Reagan is ranked 45th and West Forsyth is 62nd.
NC Leadership Academy in Kernersville is ranked #24. Leadership Academy is a public charter school.
According to research, Early College of Guilford is the top-ranked high school in the state.
