Two University of Toledo professors have once again been named the world’s most influential researchers, according to data analysis firm Clarivate.
Dr. John Elhai, Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Psychology, and Dr. Yanhua Yang, Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, are listed in Clarivate’s 2024 Highly Cited Researchers.
Mr. Yang has been named to the list every year since 2019, and Mr. Elhai has been included on the list since 2021.
The Highly Cited Researcher honor recognizes a scientist’s significant and far-reaching impact on field research. Mr. Elhai studies cyberpsychology and internet addiction, and Mr. Yang is an expert in perovskite solar cells.
More specifically, as a researcher who has authored multiple papers in the past 10 years that rank in the top 1% by number of citations in their field and year of publication, as tracked by Clarivate’s Web of Science citation index. be identified. Additional qualitative analysis and expert judgment are also factors.
Clarivate recognized 6,636 highly cited researchers worldwide in 2024.
