At least two passengers filed a lawsuit against Delta Air Lines this week after 21 people were injured on Monday when a plane landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport was overturned.

In one lawsuit filed Thursday, Texas resident Marthinus Lourens alleged that the plane was “dried with jet fuel” as it rolled upside down.

In another lawsuit filed Friday, Minneapolis resident Hannah Krebs alleged that the crash occurred due to “gross negligence and recklessness” and “inadequate training and oversight by Delta.” .
“This was a preventable accident that should never have happened,” Attorney Jim Blaucul said in a statement. “The passengers of the Delta Flight 4819 have endured such a traumatic experience and have changed their lives forever.”
Krebs suffered “hardly thrown around the cabin” and “extreme injuries and mental distress,” according to the complaint.
The Canada Road Safety Board is investigating the incident. It is supported by a team of US investigators from the National Road Safety Board. The cause has not been determined.
A Delta spokesman said the airline has declined to comment on the pending lawsuit.
Delta issued a statement Thursday to amend “false and misleading claims” about the squadron, with the captain and first mate “qualified and the FAA certified for their position.” He said.
