With global power competition in our region, Türkiye is affected by any development and does not have the “luxury of seeing it from the court”, President Recept Tayyip Erdoğan said Thursday.
“We need to prepare for all potential scenarios and manage and direct local events in ways that benefit our country,” Erdogan said while working on an Iftar event at Ankara’s presidential complex.
Located at the heart of three continents, Türkiye offers unique strategic opportunities, but also poses the challenges, Erdogan said.
“In an age when the Genocide Network announced its intention to split our region into new maps, we need to adjust our policies accordingly. With God’s permission, we will not allow Zionists to carry out new operations in our region,” he said.
In Syria, Erdogan said that Türkiye “doesn’t do right, moral and conscientious things” in his neighbouring country.
Since the collapse of Bashar al-Assad regime in December, 133,000 people have gone back to their hometowns, “our Syrian guests have returned voluntarily and honorably,” Erdogan said.
“The number of brothers and sisters who have returned to Syria has reached 873,000,” he added.
“We hope that this number will increase as order and stability is strengthened in Syria. As mentioned earlier, we will not force anyone, but will provide the necessary promotions for our brothers and sisters who want to return,” he added.
Erdogan pointed to Turkier’s anti-terrorist efforts, saying Ankara was “closer than ever.”
Please note that a similar situation can be seen in Gaza. There, despite all the pressure from “a global Zionist lobby during the 471 days of genocide and massacre,” Erdogan said Ankara was standing boldly on “its brothers and sisters.”
“In the end, Türkiye is one of the few countries that have passed the human test in Gaza with their heads high,” he added.
“Today, many countries can’t even look at Palestinian people in our faces, but we pay tribute to the sincere prayers of Gazan brothers and sisters. In the Russian-Ukraine War, we once again faced a similar choice. We stood for peace while most people fueled the war. Now, almost everyone who criticized us in the past is forced to acknowledge the balanced policies of our government. Almost everyone, whether they are our rivals or friends, acknowledge that Türkiye has made a critical period of a very accurate and visionary move,” the Turkish president added.
