HOUSTON — The Houston Health Department shut down Turkey Leg Hut on Thursday, citing “serious health code violations.”
The health department said 35 violations were issued against the restaurant, “including conditions that pose an imminent threat to public health.”
Reporter Matt Dougherty will report live from the restaurant on KHOU 11 News at 6 p.m.
Health officials said the restaurant must remain closed until the problem is resolved and they can conduct a follow-up investigation to ensure proper precautions were taken.
“We take public health very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation,” the health department said.
The restaurant posted on Instagram that it will be closed this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for renovations.
