He spent the fourth consecutive day at his Mar-A-Lago resort at home when President Donald Trump ordered federal workers to return to his office.
The president arrived at Trump International Golf Course on Tuesday morning just before 10am, and is maintained almost every day during his visit to Sunny South Florida on his daily weekend. He returned to Mar-A-Lago about four hours later.
Trump will leave the White House early Friday afternoon and return Wednesday night after giving a speech to an investment meeting in Miami.
Trump’s frequent visits to Florida are not rare during his first month of power, as all presidents will have a trap of inauguration, regardless of where they travel. But his return trip is in stark contrast to his harsh view of remote work, which is central to his efforts to reduce the size of federal workers.
Last week, a large layoff was reported by government agencies, revealing federal workers are scamming the system by working remotely. I did.
“Yeah, you can work from home,” Trump said. “No one is going to work from home. They’re going to go out. They’re going to play tennis. They’re going to play golf. They’re going to do a lot. They’re not working. ”
When he is in Florida, Trump’s golf course is on the course of almost every day, owning a car that is about 10 minutes’ drive from Mar-a-Lago. In the first 29 days of his second term, Trump spent at least 12 nights at his Florida home. In his four-year profession, Trump frequently ridiculed Joe Biden to spend the weekend at his Delaware home.
“He goes to Delaware and lies on the beach and sleeps all day,” Trump said with a chuckle at his rival last summer. “Do you think Chinese President XI is on a sleeping beach? Do you think Kim Jong-un is sleeping from North Korea with nuclear weapons everywhere?”
White House officials said Trump not only plays golf on Tuesday, but also works for the club. He received an update from the foreign policy team after meeting with Russian officials about the prospect of reaching a peace deal with Ukraine.
The president is expected to sign an executive order late Tuesday afternoon. This is the only official event of the day listed on his public calendar.
