The Dickinson Trinity girls volleyball team spent two days in Minot, playing against Our Redeemers Christian School on Friday, October 18th, and Bishop Ryan on Saturday, October 19th. The Titans lost to the Knights, but were able to gain a lead against the Lady Lions. 3-0 on Saturday.
The Lady Lions fell behind early in the first slot, but tried to close the gap down the stretch. The Titans extended their lead, winning the first of three games 25-18 over the hosts. The second frame was evenly matched with Bishop Ryan beating Bishop Ryan 25-22, but Dickinson-Trinity ultimately won the third frame 25-19.
The Lady Lions were led by Tochi Udekwe with nine kills and 12 digs. Ann Fricke had seven kills and Olivia Demers had 18 digs and one ace. Cambree Johannes had 15 assists, Haley Schwan had 11 assists, six digs and an ace for Bishop Ryan. Violet Demers also had 11 digs and an ace in the effort.
Celia Christenson and Hari Henke each had 10 kills for the Titans. Henke also had three blocks and Christenson had two. Annabel Sheeler contributed to the win with 38 assists, including 11 digs and one ace. Bela Kovaš had nine digs and one assist, and Madi Wegleitner added six kills.
Bishop Ryan (2-5, 13-14) currently ranks sixth in District 12, District 6, while Our Redeemers (7-0, 21-8) top that list . Drake-Annamoose (4-2, 12-10) is currently the top team in Region 6, District 11.
Dickinson Trinity (8-0, 23-6) leads the Region 7 standings. Oak Grove (7-0, 16-10) leads the Region 1 standings, Edgeley-Cullum-Montpelier leads District 5, Region 3, and Linton-HMB (5-0, 24-0) (4 losses) leads Region 3. 6 teams.
Region 5 is led by Central McLean (7-0, 24-3), while Mayport CG (14-0, 19-10) is the top team in Region 2.
Langdon/Edmore/Munich (7-0, 28-5) is the top team in Region 4, while Trenton (7-0, 18-7) leads Region 8, District 15, and the Kenmare Bowbells ( They are a top team with a record of 10 wins and 0 losses, and a record of 28 wins and 6 losses. ) is currently located above Region 8, District 16.
Bishop Ryan will host the Kenmare Bowbelles Lady Honkers on Tuesday, October 22nd, and the 2024 NDHSAA Class B, Region 6 Volleyball Tournament will be held from November 21st to November 23rd. It will be held from Nov. 11 to Nov. 14 prior to the state tournament.
