Lewis Town -After entering the new league in 2024, Tomahawks, Miflin County, has decided to return to a familiar territory for the next season.
Tomahawks, who first won the field in 2008, returned to the Great E -Stanfoot Ball Association (GEFA) class.
“I couldn’t find enough team to play independently.” Brian Rogers, the head coach and owner of Tomahawks, explained. “In addition, the fact that they established the development league was very interesting.”
Miflin County played a year ago in the Pennsylvanian Football League and experienced some collisions on the road.
Tomahawks finished undefeated and hoped that PAFL would return in 2025. There was a story that the league would expand to six teams. However, the Spartan of Snider County has been folded, and Tomahawks chose to return to GEFA.
“Basically, it was the last option that I had to play multiple teams.” Rogers said. “Finding the owners of these teams is becoming more and more difficult. The cost is too high.”
Currently, GEFA has nine teams -Tomahawks, Bedford Buffalo, Hestron Wolf, Indiana County Crusade, Lancaster Legend, Mosha Non -Valley Viking, Tritown (York) Tigers, Upper Dot Fink Comic, Williams Port Wild Cats.
Rogers believes that the league will be divided into mountain and valley divisions, but the alignment has not been decided yet.
The formation of GeFa2 as a development league was the return to the league by Tomahawks. Rogers wants to create a young talented pipeline for Tomahawks and other teams as a feeder system.
“I want to be able to get more young people coming out of high school.” Rogers added.
To date, GEFA2 has five teams. It is Miflin County, Indiana County Crusade, Lee High Valley Raiders, Scranton Shock, Upper Dorfink Comg.
Tomahawks will continue home games at Kishakira Park in Luistown.
