Miami police are investigating after authorities say three women were shot and killed during an argument over politics early Wednesday morning, the day after Election Day.
The shooting happened Wednesday in a residential area southwest of the city’s Wynwood neighborhood, the Miami-Dade Police Department told USA TODAY.
Police Department spokesman Michael Vega said Thursday that officers responded at 12:25 a.m. to reports of three women shot.
The shooting scene is just over three miles northwest of downtown Miami.
At the crime scene, responding officers found three women shot to death, Vega said.

Police say the group was drinking and talking about politics hours after Election Day.
First responders transported the women to local hospitals, where one was in critical condition and two others in stable condition, Vega said.
Preliminary investigation revealed the following:
“A group of people were drinking and talking about politics when the suspect gunman approached the vehicle, retrieved a firearm and began firing,” Vega said.

As of Thursday morning, police said no arrests had been made in the case and the gunman remained at large.
The department did not provide any suspect explanation.
