KINGSFORD — After leading the team to a successful season, three Kingsford players signed national letters of intent last week, along with Maddie Kreider, Gavin Grondin and Garrett Brown, who will choose their future homes.
Kreider, 2023 Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association “MS. Volleyball” The Division 1-3 Defensive Player of the Year and All-UP Dream Team selection will join the Michigan Tech volleyball team.
During the 2024 season, Kreider recorded 343 assists, 344 kills, and 293 digs and was named Great Northern UP Conference Player of the Year.
Grondin, the 2024 West PAC – Copper Division Football Offensive Player of the Year, will take his talents to Sault Ste. Marie playing basketball.
During the 2023-24 season, Grondin earned GNC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
He also averaged 22.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.3 steals per game in the 2023-24 season.
Grondin finished the 2023-24 season with 39 points in the MHSAA Division 2 state quarterfinals against Flint Powers Catholic.
Brown will join the Saint Mary’s University baseball team in Winona, Minnesota.
