A US-based space technology company has announced the final design of Haven 1, the world’s first commercial space station. Scheduled to launch in 2025, this unique space station features a modern, minimalist design that is significantly different from traditional space stations.
Vast, developer of Haven-1, showed off visuals of the final design for the comfort space station. According to the company, the interior design is “warm”.

“Astronauts living in zero gravity present unique design challenges. Creating an environment that is both efficient and naturally comfortable leads to entirely new results. Haven-1’s interior is unique. , with unprecedented precision and delicate engineering to help its crew thrive in space.” Peter Russell Clarke is the world-famous designer behind Haven-1. He has designed some of Apple’s most iconic products to date.
The team also includes veteran NASA astronaut Andrew Fostel, who has more than 23 years of experience and has spent more than 225 days in space on the International Space Station (ISS). Feustel played a key role advising the design team during the development of the interior.
“I’ve been on three spaceflights, and we’re learning from those experiences and innovating to improve the way we live and work on the space station. Communication and connectivity. Every detail, from sexuality, to interactions with others in private spaces and on board, to humanity’s progress on Earth and beyond, puts the astronaut experience at the center of our work. It’s designed,” Feustel said.
The company is working with SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, which will transport visitors to Haven 1.
Modern life in space
The interior of the space station is fireproof and constructed from maple plywood. It has soft padding to provide safety for floating crew and visitors. Real-time displays show temperature, lighting controls, and equipment status within the station.
The station will also feature staterooms with plenty of space for changing and entertainment, and SpaceX Starlink connectivity will allow passengers to connect with loved ones on Earth. It also features SpaceX Starlink gigabit-speed internet, which astronauts can use to remotely control and monitor the station.
This room features Vasto’s patent-pending signature sleep system, which allows sleepers to customize the pressure of their queen-sized bed throughout the night.
“Experience has shown that sleeping in space can be a restless task. Maximizing sleep efficiency and comfort remains important to the overall experience on Vast Station.” the company said in a press release.
“Additionally, each room is equipped with a storage compartment, vanity and custom amenity kit.”
The space station will also have multipurpose common areas for communal dining, gathering, and exercise.
