Washington State University may be a few days away from hiring the next president, but no one outside the university council or top manager knows who the top candidates are. 。
Regents are planning to meet in the Pullman at 4:00 pm on February 6th, and are expected to discuss personal contracts that have been identified only as a candidate B. The general public can attend or remotely sign, sign up and provide public comments.
President Lisa Ceohokarol Shaauer was allowed to negotiate with Candidate B at a Council’s meeting in Seattle in January.
Current President Kirk Schultz retired at the end of June, and universities began searching for successors in April 2024.
Information about the candidate for the job has not been released throughout the search process. The candidate’s confidentiality is that “search processes are transparent, open, comprehensible, fair, and there are multiple opportunities to input from the entire university community.” It was identified by the university as a priority for search.
