The 3 funniest moments from NBC Sports Chicago’s “Late Night with Chuck and Ozzie” originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago.
The White Sox will be taking on the San Francisco Giants on the West Coast this week, where games typically start later, such as a Tuesday night 8:45 PM CST kickoff.
That meant NBC Sports Chicago aired “Late Night with Chuck and Ozzie” after the game with hosts Chuck Garfien and former South Side coach Ozzie Guillen.
Here are the top three funniest moments from Tuesday night’s episode.
Late-night party platform
As Chicago residents know, the Democratic National Convention is taking place in the city this week, and Garfien asked Guillen, “What would this country look like if we were running it?” The two were scheduled to release a new party platform if Guillen were president and Garfen vice president.
Late night party.
Here are the goals they would like to achieve if elected:
Garfien’s suspicious desk
Garfien has covered the White Sox for 20 years for NBC Sports Chicago, and is a lifelong South Side fan, having grown up in the south suburbs of Chicago.
However, his fan status was called into question after producer Jeff Nelson discovered some suspicious items on his desk.
A call to Guillen’s pen
White Sox fans are familiar with Guillen’s famous order to relieve Bobby Jenks during the 2005 World Series, when the former South Side manager spread his arms wide to signal for Jenks to be taken out of relief.
So what would it be like if Guillen were to take up the pen for Garfien? He answered the question in a humorous way.
