A McDonald’s restaurant employee who helped police track down a suspect in the shooting death of United Healthcare’s CEO could be missing out on a hefty $60,000 reward.
Brian Thompson, 50, was gunned down in New York last week in an apparently targeted attack.
He was shot in the back on Wednesday (December 4) outside the Hilton Hotel in midtown Manhattan as his health insurance company, United Healthcare, was holding an investor meeting.
A 26-year-old man was later charged with Thompson’s murder.

Police have launched an extensive search for the suspect and appealed to the public for help in tracking him down.
The New York City Police Department has announced a $10,000 reward for anyone with information about the suspect.
The investigation then expanded over the weekend, with the FBI supporting the NYPD’s investigation, an additional $50,000, and hundreds of tips pouring in.
McDonald’s employees said they observed Mangione acting “suspiciously” inside the store around 9:15 a.m., adding that he appeared to be carrying fraudulent documents.
Officers later discovered that Mangione was in possession of fake identification, a “ghost” gun, a silencer, clothing, and a mask matching the one worn by the suspected gunman. He was arrested on five charges.
Just hours later, investigators charged Mangione with murder and four other charges, including a firearms charge.
While the tip from the employee is clearly important in this case, the question remains whether the employee will be able to cash out the $60,000 reward in the first place. The rules are complex, as tipsters are stipulated to enter with probability. The reward portion of the FBI cannot nominate itself.
This means McDonald’s employees will come forward to law enforcement agencies such as the Department of Defense and the FBI, and then be reviewed by an interagency committee.
If approved, the proposal will be passed on to the Secretary of State for approval of the final decision.

For the NYPD’s $10,000, a reward program will be offered through Crime Stoppers, and tipsters will be given a unique reference number.
This number is very important because informants must call back or check the status of the investigation online before filing a complaint with the NYPD Foundation and Crimestoppers Board. is. The board ultimately decides whether to approve the tip-off and direct the caller. How to receive it.
Therefore, if a tipster calls 911 instead of Crime Stoppers, they may not be able to file a claim.
In both cases, the bounty is only paid if the arrest leads to an indictment or conviction from a court, so McDonald’s employees may be left waiting for a while and won’t receive a dime when all is said and done. There is a possibility.
