I tested the Mercedes-Benz EQ 580 at 110km and was totally fascinated by the spaceship, including interior, functionality and great ride.
Bhpian Bamaboy recently shared this with other enthusiasts.
My father and I have always been Mercedes enthusiasts and the S-Class is an ambitious car. My first experience with the S class was in 2015, but I completed the purchase of the W205 C class at Nagpur’s Auto Hangar. When I came across the W222 S class of Meat and Boy, it felt like an elegant and luxurious time machine much earlier than that.
For nearly a decade since I bought the W205, it was like a “hero car” in the garage, the right garage queen. I sat untouched most of the time, but other more practical cars handled daily drives, highway driving and chores. The S-Class remained the car I am aiming to own next.
During September, while casually browsing through the new luxury car price check thread, I learned about EQ trading and offers. Having gained a comfortable experience with the MG ZS EV, I was interested in exploring the luxury EV, especially in the current market, filled with attractive offers. The following week, on my way from Nagpur to Vilaspur, I casually called for a sales advisor for Mercedes-Benz Raipur. I stated that I was competing and expressed interest in stopping by to check out my EQ. However, due to time constraints I decided to postpone the visit. That’s when they suggested something unexpected. I was able to drive the EQ on my way from Raipur to Bilaspur. They arrange for the driver to follow in my C class. We tested the eqs at 110km and were totally fascinated by the spaceship, including interior, functionality and excellent ride. This experience was sublime and made me believe that luxury EVs are the best. It was surprising.
After the test drive, I began a rigorous study of battery pack life, the future of electric vehicles, and insights from various EQ forums, threads, and YouTube channels. We also evaluated whether investments could be converted to responsibility within five years. I had done previous research before purchasing the MG ZS EV, but the use cases for the two cars are completely different. The ZS EV is meant to handle family ferries and daily city chores, saving between £12,000 and £13,000 a month in running costs. In contrast, buying a luxurious EV like the EQ is not about saving on running costs, but about experiencing refinement and innovation. For me, EQ was destined to be a hello car, not a daily commuter. However, I found that EQS limousines are somewhat unrealistic in tier 2 cities where SUVs like GLE and GLS are more suitable. I currently own a first-generation GL350 owned in 2010, and despite its age it remains an incredible off-roader and a great family tourer. I absolutely adore it. Replacing the GL350 with the new GLS makes no sense. My work often includes trips to mines and dusty areas, and rough traffic and challenging circumstances here quickly run out of brand new GLS. The GL350, on the other hand, is my trusty old horse. I’m totally at ease, parked anywhere, through the off-road mine trails, through the mud or without thinking again. For me, hello cars like S-Class, GLS, or EQ need to remain true to their purpose. Reserved for elegance and refinement not exposed to sturdy daily use. The S-Class has always been my dream car and I feel that the EQ is very close to it. From a self-directed perspective, the EQ is truly exceptional as it surpasses the W223 S class.
After discussing with my family, we invited our sales team to bring our demo car to our home in Bilaspur. We did a family test drive and after final negotiations we quickly confirmed the 2023 Ossidian Black EQ deal in stock.
I delivered the car with my family on October 5th. City Star in Raipur provided an excellent sales experience. They showed amazing expertise in turning casual research into successful sales, and their aggressive approach sealed the deal. They were very child-friendly and added a fun personal touch to the experience.
Compare with the newly released EQS SUV:
It has covered 3,000 km so far, including four long trips. Most of the important driving experiences have already been shared in the above post. We will share detailed reviews soon.
