Rolls-Royce will make its first appearance in Grasso’s garage in 2024 with its first-ever EV, the Spectre. The two-door, ultra-luxury vehicle boasts a fully electric powertrain and a host of extras that will push the price to over $500,000. With a $52,000 exterior cosmetic upgrade option, our Spectre tester was wrapped in Black Diamond Contract Chartreuse and rolled on 23-inch seven-spoke polished wheels.
BMW owns and operates Rolls-Royce, so it’s no secret that they know a thing or two about luxury. The luxury automotive brand has had success with countless products, and now Rolls-Royce is under their umbrella. It was easy to predict that the all-electric Spectre would soon be joining their fleet, and Grasso’s Garage was the first to test the Chartreuse version.
The 6,559-pound coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and rides on the frame of the Cullinan SUV and Phantom. It’s powered by two electric motors that produce 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, giving it a range of 291 miles. The brand plans to phase out gasoline options by 2030, so the EV Specter would certainly be a good start to reaching that goal. Its ride, looks, sight lines and curvature are all among the best of the $500,000-plus Specter models, and are on par with other models from the brand that’s been driving brand loyalty for some time now.
Rolls-Royce knows how to deliver luxury. It’s quiet, but we know that driving at 70 mph on the highway feels just as comfortable as lounging on your couch at home. This is true for all models, but adding the Spectre EV to that list makes it even more achievable with a fully electric option without compromising power or torque. Finally, the chartreuse exterior color is a love-it-or-hate-it affair, as green is not a very appealing choice for consumers, but we love it.
