That leaves 8 pieces left.
Three-quarters of the NFL is officially in the offseason, including the six new teams sent to Wild Card Weekend. Let’s take a peek at what these six organizations do next, with some very interesting quarterback situations in the conversation.
But the real deal is the next divisional round. Pound for pound, this is a great weekend of football, I say. And with five of the six wild card games decided by two points or more, getting four bangers in this round would be a real hit.
On paper, this matchup looks pretty great and will be fully boiling over by Sunday night.
The Texans start the weekend with their best performance in at least a month. Will they be able to return to Arrowhead and catch the Chiefs, who have been sluggish due to their long vacation?
Commanders vs. Lions is a special game on Saturday night, and it’s about as enticing a match-up as you can expect at this stage. Jayden Daniels versus the injured but resilient Lions defense.
The fearless Rams, fresh off a relatively easy victory over the 14-win Vikings, will let their emotions take over as they fly to Philadelphia. Are the Eagles poised for an upset in Sunday’s opener?
Capping it all off is probably the highlight of the weekend: the Ravens vs. the Bills. You know the storyline, which centers on perhaps the two most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL right now. I’m pushing the Ravens up in this ranking, right behind the Bills, because it feels like a real lift game. If Buffalo hadn’t fought back after Denver’s go-ahead haymaker to ultimately defeat the Broncos, I probably would have jumped over the Ravens before the Bills. I’ll find out Sunday night whether my call is correct or not. If you watch Baltimore play, you’re prepared to look bad.
