Some say there is no competition between Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Mercedes-Maybach because the former make the best cars. That may be true when it comes to the Phantom land yacht, but the Ghost, Flying Spur and S-Class are pretty close to each other. If you’ve been lucky enough to drive all three, you probably have a favorite. If your favorite is the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, read on because we’re not going to criticize you in this article. No, instead, we’re going to revisit the Haute Voiture model that debuted almost two years ago, because we’ve just found a car that’s looking for a new home.
First, let’s reminisce a bit about this car from the concept of the same name that was previewed back in 2022. Mercedes called it a study, but it was actually a pre-production model. About half a year after the concept debuted, the luxury division of the three-pointed star brand has unveiled its production version.
As you’d expect from a luxury vehicle, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Haute Voiture comes with several refinements, including animated projection surround lighting and a two-tone exterior finish. The cabin features gold, rose gold, beige and blue accents. The crystal white leather upholstery gives it a very lifelike look. The floor mats are also premium, made from linen and mohair. Blue piping adds contrast throughout, and rose gold champagne glasses are also available.

Mercedes took special care in transforming the S 680 into a Haute Voiture Edition, adding a sparkly glitter cloud to the MBUX infotainment system, which they say is meant to “enhance the catwalk vibe.” The car also comes with a bag collection, a car cover with the Haute Voiture and Maybach logos, and a scale model — all of which was offered at no extra cost when the model was still on sale.
As the name suggests, the Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture is a derivative of the S 680, which means that instead of a V8 engine under the hood, you’ll find a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12. The engine produces 664 pound-feet (900 Nm) of torque and 621 horsepower (630 ps / 463 kW). A nine-speed transmission transfers it all to an AWD system. According to the manufacturer, the acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) is 4.5 seconds, which is not bad for a luxury sedan.
In addition to the special features, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Haute Voiture is also a limited edition. Yeah, you didn’t think the company would make so many, did you? With only 150 units produced, it might be hard to find one looking for a new owner. At the time of writing, we found two cars for sale, but the one in the photo is perhaps the most interesting. After all, this car has only a few miles to deliver, so it’s a brand new car ready to hit the road in utmost comfort.

As you’d expect from a high-end, luxurious car, this car comes with a ton of features. The ad we’ll link to in a moment lists all the features and gives the asking price for the Light Rose/Nautical Blue car with a white leather interior. So how much would it cost to park this car in your garage? A fair amount, in fact, but you’d think it would be pennies on the dollar. After all, we’re talking about a modern new Maybach that comes with a ton of features and stays true to the V12 recipe (as you’d expect for a luxury car).
But enough chatter about that, it’s time to reveal the price of this Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Haute Voiture. The answer is 487,662 euros, which at current exchange rates is $534,094. The price includes taxes, and Hollmann International has been tasked with finding this luxury cruiser a new home.
You can access the online listing here and read about the car’s special features, but before that, let us know that a brand new Mercedes-Maybach S 680 in the United States will cost you $234,300 (before delivery and dealer markup). If you’re okay with a V8-engined Maybach S-Class, the S 580 might be your best choice, with prices starting at $198,300. This model boasts 516 pound-feet (700 Nm) and 496 horsepower (503 ps / 370 kW), and is only 0.2 seconds slower than the S 680.
So if you’re looking for a luxury sedan, would you spend over half a million dollars on the Haute Voiture pictured, or would you buy a new S 580 or S 680 instead? Keep in mind that the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur are also very good.
